I'm very skeptical on this. I think that a serious writer still needs a good literary agent.

I just googled about this word "literary agent"... Yes I think having a literary agent might be good! While the agent is focusing himself on the packaging for the writers, the writers should focus on their works... It's just like a computer programmer might not be the best salesman for the programs they had coded themselves!
